Australia the Invincibles of Cricket

The Australian Cricket team in the 1940s was the real threat for any opposition and they were one of the toughest sides to beat under the leadership of Don Bradman. This side not only had great batters like Arthur Morris, Sid Barnes, Lindsay and Bradman himself but also genuinely quick bowlers like Lindwall and Keith Miller. However ironical it seems when we look back at the Bodyline series, the pair was Lindwall-Miller were terrorizing to face with their short bowling and use of occassional bouncers. Spin bowlers like Ian Johsnon & Bill O'Reilly made it equally tough for the batsman to score against them.

The major achievement of this side was the 1948 Test Series in England which they won 4-0. Coincidentally, this also happened to be Bradman's last series. This series victory earned them the title of Invincibles and perhaps the best Cricket team in the world in that era.
