Mankading

Vinoo Mankad an Indian Cricketer while playing in Australia in 1948 ran out the non-striker Bill Brown while into his delivery stride but before delivering the ball. He actually did that twice in 2 matches. Few of the Australian players and the Australian media heavily criticised Mankad and claimed his behaviour and unsportsmanlike and accused him of not playing within the spirits of the game. However, Bradman who was the Captain of Australia that time supported Mankad and called his act to be within the rules. It eventually turned into controversy and such form of wicket was started to be termed as Mankading. As of 9th March 2022, a mankading dismissal would be counted as a run-out and such dismissal will no longer come into unfair terms of the game.
