Australia's potent bowling attack
If West Indies had a lethal attack, Australia too had a quality attack. The Australian side actually had better pacers well before the West Indies. Australian team beat the West Indies 5-1 in a 6 Test series in 1975. This was possible due to that famous bowling pair of Dennis Lilee and Jeffrey Thomson.
One of the most hostile bowling pairs of world Cricket, the Lilee-Thomson pair were tall aggressive fast bowlers with their never-say die attitude wanting to rule the world of Cricket with their incredible spell of bowling. Dennis Lilee was quick, real quick!! A bowler wearing a head band running in at a speed of almost 34 km/h and would bowl with a speed of more than 90 mile per hour. Thomson's run-up was a lot slower but he was surprisingly quick when he released the ball. The batsmen would usually be late on to their shots because of the run-up that Thomson had.
This pair destroyed their oppositions single handedly and made the life of the opposition batsman like hell! They not only performed well but entertained their fans to an extent that the entire stadium in Australia would be filled just to watch them bowl.
